Voluntary action
Volunteering England celebrated the success of its work across the voluntary sector with the publication of its annual Impact Report published in August 2008. Working Week researched, wrote and managed the publication of the report on behalf of the organisation. The report is one of over 20 publications handled by Working Week as part of a wide range of publishing services supplied to Volunteering England in 2008.

The Work Foundation

Working Week collaborates regularly on projects at The Work Foundation. We researched and wrote the report Liberating Leadership: how public sector managers shape up and updated a series of fact sheets designed to keep managers on top of key employment concerns. Working Week has also handled the media relations activities on two major projects for the organisation, Ideopolis – Knowledge Cities and the Work and Enterprise Panel of Inquiry into UK productivity.

Age discrimination
The Employers Forum on Age promotes age diversity in the workplace. Working Week wrote and produced a special eight-page issue of the EFA’s newsletter, Working Age, to coincide with the introduction of legislation outlawing age discrimination at work.

Diversity at work
Working Week managed the publication of Stonewall’s guide for employers on the laws banning discrimination at work on the grounds of sexual orientation. We oversaw content editing, design and print of the four-colour, 40-page guide, which was funded by the DTI. Other publishing projects for Stonewall include the research report, Understanding Prejudice and an anti-bullying guide for schools.

Property management
Turning Point is a two-year research project spearheaded by property analysts IPD Occupiers and designed to demonstrate the value that first-class corporate property management can add to business results. Working Week edited and produced a briefing paper for participants.

Online recruitment
Working Week has produced both careers content aimed at jobseekers and a range of marketing tools targeted at employers for totaljobs.com. Working Week researched and wrote The e-guide to graduate recruitment, edited The handbook for e-recruitment and provided monthly content for Snapshot, a monthly e-newsletter for corporate recruiters.

Museum careers
The Museums Association is the professional body for people working in museums and galleries. Working Week researched and wrote the content for its online careers guide and devised the marketing material for Diversify, a campaign to open up museum careers to candidates from ethnic minority backgrounds.

The Recruitment Confidence Index
Cranfield School of Management and The Daily Telegraph developed the Recruitment Confidence Index, which established itself as a leading indicator of employment trends and business confidence. Working Week worked on the RCI’s media strategy and produced a quarterly newsletter for the recruitment community.

Heritage skills

The Tourism and Heritage Export Group is an industry-led body campaigning to improve the export potential of skills such as architecture, archaeology and museum design. Working Week researched and wrote THE’s content for a government export website and also ran a successful media campaign based on this research.
